About the Journal

AIMS AND SCOPE

Enfoque UTE aims to contribute to the advancement of scientific and technological knowledge by prioritizing the dissemination of original research that provides innovative, sustainable, and analytically rigorous solutions to relevant problems in industry, productive sectors, and society.

The journal serves the national and international scientific and professional community by publishing original research articles and review papers, written in English, that employ experimental methodologies, mathematical modeling, computational simulation, optimization techniques, data analysis, or case studies with solid theoretical and methodological foundations.

The thematic coverage of Enfoque UTE includes the following areas of engineering:

• Environmental Engineering
• Food Engineering
• Agricultural Engineering
• Mechanical Engineering
• Electrical, Electronic, and Computer Engineering
• Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering

To ensure excellence and the integrity of the academic record, submitted works undergo a rigorous double-blind peer review process involving at least two independent external reviewers and must adhere to the ethical principles established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

Enfoque UTE publishes original research articles and review articles. The journal has a quarterly publication frequency and publishes its content in digital formats including HTML, XML, PDF, and EPUB, in order to maximize accessibility, interoperability, and long-term preservation of scholarly content.

The journal adheres to the principles of open science and open access, does not charge any fees for manuscript submission, processing, or publication, and operates under an institutional funding model. Enfoque UTE is edited and funded by the Faculty of Engineering Sciences and Industries of Universidad UTE, Quito, Ecuador, as part of its institutional commitment to the dissemination of scientific knowledge without economic barriers.

PUBLICATION FREQUENCY

Enfoque UTE publishes four issues per year, in the first days of January, April, July, and October. Manuscripts are received continuously through the journal's OJS platform. Any omission or falsification of information posted on the journal's platform will result in immediate rejection of the work. Additionally, the journal offers an Online First publication model, through which articles that have successfully completed the editorial process, including peer review, final revision, and approval for publication, may be published online before being assigned to a regular issue.

OPEN ACCESS POLICY

Enfoque UTE is a scientific journal that provides immediate open access to its contents, enabling free and cost-free availability, with the purpose of achieving the exchange of knowledge for the well-being of society globally. The journal adheres to the open access principles and policies established in Budapest (2002) (BOAI 10), Berlin (2003), and Bethesda (2003) and grants readers the free, irrevocable, and global right to access the contents, as well as to download, print, share, or link to the full text of any article in any of the published issues, without prior permission from the editor or author, provided that the first publication by Enfoque UTE is duly cited and referenced, taking into account copyright.

The contents of Enfoque UTE are licensed under a CC-BY 4.0 Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/) where you are free to:

• Share — copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format for any purpose, even commercially.
• Adapt — remix, transform, and build upon the material for any purpose, even commercially.

The licensor cannot revoke these freedoms as long as you follow the license terms. Under the following terms:

• Attribution — You must give appropriate credit, provide a link to the license, and indicate if changes were made. You may do so in any reasonable manner, but not in any way that suggests that you or your use is endorsed by the licensor.

COPYRIGHT

The authors retain the copyright of their work and grant Enfoque UTE the right to be the first publication of the work.
