Conflicts of interest
DECLARATION OF CONFLICTS OF INTEREST
At Enfoque UTE, the disclosure of conflicts of interest is an essential principle to ensure the credibility, transparency, and trustworthiness of the editorial and scientific process. This disclosure helps identify potential external influences that could compromise the objectivity of research.
A conflict of interest is understood as any circumstance in which judgments or decisions regarding the validity, integrity, or interpretation of research may be influenced by interests outside of scientific work. These secondary interests may be of an economic nature (such as funding, employment, or investments), ideological (ties to political, religious, or other belief systems), personal (family or friendship relationships), or professional (rivalries, past collaborations, among others).
All authors submitting a manuscript for evaluation must clearly and fully disclose any situation that may constitute a conflict of interest. This obligation includes reporting financial, ideological, personal, or professional relationships that could influence the presented research. Likewise, reviewers (peer reviewers) are also required to disclose any conflicts of interest that may affect the objectivity of their assessment.
In cases where no conflicts of interest exist, this absence must be explicitly stated in the manuscript through a Conflict of Interest Statement, signed or endorsed by the corresponding author, expressly indicating that there are no conflicts to declare.
This policy is mandatory for authors, reviewers, and editors, as part of Enfoque UTE’s commitment to ethics and integrity in scientific publishing.
