Corrections, expressions of concern, and retractions

CORRECTIONS, EXPRESSIONS OF CONCERN, AND RETRACTIONS

As part of its commitment to academic integrity, Enfoque UTE implements the following procedures to ensure the quality of its publications:

Post-publication corrections:

These are applied only to correct substantial errors in the content (e.g., incorrect authorship or misdescription of illustrations) that may lead to misinterpretation. The process includes:

  • Publication of an Errata detailing the modifications
  • Corrected version available alongside the original
  • Explicit note in the metadata regarding the existence of the updated version
  • Note: Minor typographical errors or errors in bibliographic references are not corrected.

Policy on expressions of concern:

Enfoque UTE does not publish articles with expressions of concern. An expression of concern is when an editor or reviewer expresses doubt about the quality of the information or a possible ethical violation. If there are well-founded suspicions about the validity of a work, the author is required to provide an explanation. If the response is unsatisfactory, the manuscript is removed from the editorial process, and the author is informed of the reasons.

Retractions:

Executed when:

  • There is conclusive evidence of ethical misconduct or scientific fraud
  • The errors detected are of such magnitude that they invalidate the findings
  • The content violates the journal's editorial policies

Retraction Procedure:

  • Replacement of the original article with a version marked "RETRACTED" on all pages
  • Replacement of the abstract with a detailed explanation of the reasons
  • Formal notification to indexing databases
  • Retention of the original record to maintain transparency of the process

This policy is applied in strict adherence to the guidelines of the COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) and guarantees the traceability of all modifications to the academic record.
