GOOD EDITOR PRACTICES
The editorial team ensures the necessary, transparent, and objective processes for the selection of journal content, authors' rights, the best possible dissemination, and the preservation of all content published in Enfoque UTE. This entails:
- Safeguarding intellectual property and copyright.
- Ensuring the integrity of works throughout the editorial process.
- Publishing corrections, clarifications, retractions, and apologies when necessary and in a timely manner.
- Ensuring that the editorial process is rigorous and transparent.
- Clearly defining peer review and evaluation processes, as well as submission procedures and requirements, journal access conditions, and permissible uses of articles within copyright frameworks.
- Addressing promptly and thoroughly any concerns raised by stakeholders involved in the editorial process.
- Decisions to accept or reject an article for publication must be based on the quality and objectivity of the review process, which considers the manuscript's significance, originality, clarity, research validity, and alignment with the journal's aims.
GOOD PEER REVIEWER PRACTICES
All articles considered for publication will undergo review by two external peer reviewers not affiliated with Universidad UTE to ensure impartiality and validation of scholarly merit. Reviewers are selected based on criteria such as academic qualifications, number of publications in recognized sources, and the impact of their work in the field related to the manuscript under evaluation.
Peer reviewers are expected to uphold principles of transparency and ethical conduct at all times, including the following obligations:
- Disclose to the editor any conflicts of interest or suspicions of irregularities in the manuscript.
- Adhere to deadlines established for the evaluation process.
- Conduct objective assessments grounded in scientific rigor, originality, and relevance of the content.
- Follow the journal’s evaluation protocol as provided.
- Provide feedback in a respectful and constructive manner.
- Avoid AI-generated evaluations: Enfoque UTE does not accept analyses or comments produced by artificial intelligence (AI) models. Reviewers must submit opinions based on their own expertise and experience in the subject matter.
- Verify revisions made in response to initial review requests.
- Maintain confidentiality throughout the evaluation process.
- Submit required data in the OJS system as requested by the journal.
