PREPRINT POLICY
A preprint is an academic manuscript published by the author(s) on an open access platform, generally before or in parallel with the peer review process.
Enfoque UTE accepts the submission of manuscripts hosted in specific preprint repositories (e.g., Scielo preprint) or institutional repositories where the document is recognized as a preprint. The author may host the manuscript in the preprint repository before or during the review process. In all cases, the author must inform the journal of the manuscript's status in the Cover Letter, including the permanent identifier (e.g., the DOI). The article published in Enfoque UTE will inform the journal of the existence of the preprint, and the author is also responsible for indicating the existence of the published article in the preprint deposited in the repository.
OPEN DATA
Enfoque UTE aligns with open science policies and promotes the publication of research data supporting articles as open data, in appropriate formats, either as tables or appendices to the article or as links to national or international open data repositories. Enfoque UTE hopes that open data can be freely used, reused, and redistributed by anyone, anytime, anywhere, and contribute to informing people, creating businesses, generating scientific or journalistic research, creating new services, or improving existing ones, among others. Likewise, the open data in the articles published by Enfoque UTE constitutes an appropriate and timely way to demonstrate transparency and traceability in the research process.
